The Delta Upsilon Fraternity, North America’s Oldest non-secret, non-hazing fraternity, was founded on November 4, 1834, at Williams College in Williamstown Massachusetts. Delta Upsilon was originally called The Social Fraternity. “Social” did not mean entertainment events, but instead meant an interest in life’s interactions among people, and how society could better itself through group action. Delta Upsilon began as a spirited brotherhood based on merit, and was founded upon four basic principles: the Promotion of Friendship, the Development of Character, the Diffusion of Liberal Culture, and the Advancement of Justice. The ideals and principles remain unchanged to this day.

Founded on the University of North Florida’s campus April 20, 2007. The chapter has contributed to the community by supporting local foundations such as the American Cancer Society since its founding, by hosting a chapter-wide shave-a-thon. The local Humane Society, providing resources for thirty plus dogs/cats to be adopted. Local non-profit organizations to help end hunger, either by volunteering at a food kitchen, or hosting an event for Blessings in a backpack. Nationally we help with Global Service Initiative an organization established by our International Headquarters to help emerge undergrads in our Four founding principles by learning about another culture while providing a service to the community.
